Training & Development

Over the past three months, the Training and Development team at Remco has been hard at work providing free technical assistance and training sessions to numerous distributors and end-users. Our focus has been on equipping distributors with the knowledge to recognize market opportunities and sell solutions tailored to address HACCP challenges. For end-users, we’ve conducted detailed training on the correct care and maintenance of tools, alongside the principles of hygienic design. In April, I had the opportunity to attend the Conference for Food Protection in Boise, Idaho. A central theme of the event was the growing influence of consumer demands on the food industry. Consumers are increasingly pushing for enhanced food safety measures, particularly at retail levels. This shift has brought about new challenges such as the anti-processing movement, efforts to reduce food waste, minimizing produce-related outbreaks, detecting biofilms, and altering employee mindsets. Keep an eye out for upcoming newsletters, articles, and whitepapers from Remco as we stay updated on these evolving trends. Later that month, I also attended the Food Safety Summit in Chicago, Illinois. During the summit, Mike Taylor, the former deputy commissioner for foods and veterinary medicine at the FDA, delivered his farewell speech. He highlighted the industry's progress toward FSMA compliance but emphasized that the most challenging phase lies ahead—compliance with operational requirements. Joe Corby, the executive director of AFDO, echoed this sentiment by urging both consumers and industry professionals to ensure continued funding for food safety initiatives to maintain the momentum of the movement. Looking ahead, the members of Remco’s Training and Development team are excited to engage further with distributors and end-users. The food industry faces a myriad of new challenges, and Remco is prepared to offer innovative solutions. If your organization requires additional support, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to assist. As always, feel free to share any feedback or questions regarding our services. We value your input and are committed to staying ahead of the curve in food safety practices. Until next time, stay safe and informed! P.S. If you missed the recent webinars we hosted on HACCP implementation strategies, they're available on-demand on our website. Let us know if you'd like more details!
