Gravure printing machine technology development trend

● Independent drive technology is driven by a single motor in each printing unit. The plate cylinder is driven directly by the motor, longitudinal registration is achieved during the imprinting process, and lateral movement is controlled by a stepper motor movement.
The main advantage of independent drive is that it does not require mechanical transmission shaft and register compensating roller mechanism, mechanical components are reduced, and the length of the tape is shortened, which is advantageous to improve the printing quality and printing speed. For example, Cerutti's R960 flexible packaging gravure press and W&H's Heiostar 2000 gravure printing press adopt independent drive technology. Valment Rotomec's ROTOPAK4000-l gravure press uses an ES (Electronic Axis) system for quick register setting, increasing machine stability and up to 650m/min.
● Sleeve type impression cylinder structure The most advanced foreign gravure printing machines use the can type impression cylinder. Its main advantages are: no tool can be used when the drum is quickly replaced; secondly, the stock is not broken when the impression drum is replaced, thus reducing material waste.

The squeegee is controlled by a pair of tandem cylinders. During the production process, the long-stroke cylinder controls the squeegee into a predetermined working position. The short-stroke cylinder controls the squeegee to enter the working position and applies pressure; meanwhile, the squeegee holder is equipped with a turnover mechanism. (Controlled by a tandem cylinder) and the squeegee eccentric clamping mechanism, the former can flip the tool holder to an almost vertical position, and the latter can clamp the squeegee very simply, accurately, uniformly, and reliably. Therefore, the entire replacement process can be completed on the machine, and the time is greatly reduced, the uniformity of the ink scraping, the squeegee and the drum life can be improved.
● Quick positioning and mounting system On the transmission side of the gravure printing machine, there are guide rods for the carts. The guide rods move up and down through the cylinders, which can accurately control the movement of the carts and speed up the installation and disassembly of the carts.
