Packaging penetration and leakage (2)

2. Detection of Water Vapor Transmission Rate At present, the commonly used water vapor transmission rate test methods at home and abroad are shown in Table 2. From the detection principle, there are mainly two types: weighing method and infrared detection method.

RH=75% 25°C
Materials with a moisture permeability of less than 1g/m2·24h are not recommended for this method. GB/T 1037-1998 (refer to ASTM-E96) Plastic film and sheet through water vapour test method - cup material steam weight RH = 90 % 25°C or 23°C GB/T-6928-1997 (equivalent to the 3030 procedure in FED-STD-101) Packaging Materials Test - Moisture Permeability Material Water Vapor Weight Gain Method A is only applicable to moisture permeability greater than 1g/ M2 · 24h) thickness less than 3mm material
The B method is used for heat sealable materials that can be made into bags with low moisture permeability.
Method A: 38°C RH = 92%; 23°C RH = 50% 45°C RH = 83%; -18°C RH = 95%
Method B: 38°C RH=90% GB/T6981-1986 Test method for moisture permeability of hard packaging containers
