Teddy Bear Cake Pops Recipe

Today marked a special day for my twin nieces—they turned two! To celebrate their big milestone, we baked a variety of cakes, but one of the highlights was these adorable teddy bear cake pops. Given that I didn’t have much time to spare, I opted for the simplest recipe possible, relying mostly on store-bought ingredients. My goal was to keep it straightforward yet enjoyable. The stars of our celebration were definitely these teddy bear cake pops. They’re so cute and easy to make, perfect for any occasion where you want something both delicious and visually appealing. Here’s how we did it: **Ingredients (Makes about 8–10 teddy bear cake pops):** - Half a tub of premixed chocolate buttercream frosting - One madeira cake - A 500g bar of milk chocolate - A pack of white chocolate buttons - Candy eyeballs - Chocolate drops - Lollipop sticks **Steps:** First, cut away the sides of the cake and crumble it into a bowl. Mix in the buttercream frosting until everything is well combined and the mixture holds together when rolled into a ball. It should feel firm. Wrap the cake balls tightly in plastic wrap and chill them in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. This step helps the cake balls hold their shape better when you insert the sticks. Next, insert the lollipop sticks halfway into each cake ball. For stability, I recommend putting them back in the fridge for another half-hour before proceeding. Once they're chilled again, the sticks will stay firmly in place. Now comes the fun part—melting the chocolate. I like to melt mine using a double boiler method by placing the bowl over a pot of simmering water. Be careful not to let the bottom of the bowl touch the water; you don’t want the chocolate to burn. Once the chocolate is melted, dip each cake pop into it, ensuring the entire surface is coated evenly. To decorate, attach two white chocolate buttons for ears, a button with a chocolate drop on top for the nose, and finish with the candy eyeballs. Place the decorated cake pops in the fridge to set. For presentation, I used florist’s foam to arrange the cake pops at varying heights. My little helper even helped distribute them around the room. It was such a heartwarming moment!
