Delicious Chocolate Teddy Bear Cake Pops
Today marks a special occasion for my twin nieces—they turned two! To celebrate their birthday, we decided to bake a variety of cakes, including these adorable teddy bear cake pops. Given that I was pressed for time, I opted for an easy recipe using mostly store-bought ingredients. My goal was to keep things simple yet enjoyable.

Ingredients for Making Teddy Bear Cake Pops
(Makes approximately 8–10 teddy bear cake pops)
- 1/2 tub of pre-mixed chocolate buttercream frosting
- 1 Madeira cake
- 500g bar of milk chocolate
- 1 pack of white chocolate buttons
- Candy eyeballs
- Chocolate drops
- Lollipop sticks
Instructions: How to Make Teddy Bear Cake Pops
- Cut the edges off the cake and crumble it into a bowl.
- Mix the frosting with the cake crumbs until you form small balls. The mixture should be firm enough to hold its shape.
- Wrap each ball in cling film and chill them in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
- Insert lollipop sticks halfway into the chilled cake balls. For better stability, I recommend placing them back in the fridge for another half-hour.
Next, melt the chocolate. I find it best to melt it over a bowl of hot water.
Once melted, dip the cake pops into the chocolate, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
For decoration, attach two white chocolate buttons for ears, place a chocolate drop on a button for the nose, and add candy eyes. If you're unable to find candy eyes, they can be purchased online from sites like eBay or specialty cake stores. After decorating, refrigerate the cake pops to let the chocolate set.
I used floral foam to display the finished cake pops at varying heights. My little niece helped hand them out to everyone.
