Second, the packaging method

At present, China's printing plants mainly use paper packaging, and also use book cover packaging for books with special requirements.

1. Paper packaging. According to the book packaging requirements, put the book cover on the packaging paper, use manual or mechanical method, press the book and paper, use rope or plastic tape to crisscross the book together to form a package, as shown in Figure 9-1 The form shown.

The common form of packaging is the packaging paper tower mouth on both sides of the package at the book mouth, when using manual packaging, there are wrapping paper on the top of the form.

2. Book cover packaging. The book cover package is not used in many forms, and it is mostly made by hand. Therefore, it is mostly used for gifts, souvenirs, pocket books, or book covers and book boxes made according to the requirements of publishers.

Book cover is a special envelope cardboard production, its thickness is 0.7mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm four. The paper on the outside of the board is printed with fine paper or hardcover printed artwork.

The shape of the book cover has a trapezoidal slanted shape with a right-angled shape. According to the number of books contained in the book cover, there is one, two or more book covers. The form of the book cover is shown in Figure 9-2.

Third, mechanical packaging

By hand-packaging books and periodicals, labor intensity is high and production efficiency is low. At present, the printing industry has widely used mechanical packaging books and periodicals. In high-volume production, bookbinding machines are installed on each linkage production line. The commonly used books and packaging machines include YB-1 and PSQB type paperback book packaging machines. Its main technical specifications are shown in Table 9-3.

The commonly used magazine tying machines include the SK-4A semi-automatic tying machine and the SK-1A automatic tying machine.

The maximum strapping height of the SK-1A automatic strapping machine is 400-1000mm, the maximum strapping width is 400-1200mm, the minimum strapping size is 50mm×80mm, the strapping speed is 3.5s/channel, and the used plastic strap width is 12-16mm .
