However, the situation changed to Durpa2004, when almost all the well-known manufacturers introduced the violet laser CTP platesetter and the corresponding plate. After the development in recent years, the violet laser CTP has become the three mainstream technologies of CTP together with the heat-sensitive CTP and CTcP.
I. Purple Laser CTP Technology Analysis
1. One of the most important components of the violet laser is the violet laser generator, which was originally developed by the Japanese company Nichia and was originally used to manufacture high-capacity DVD discs. Since the wavelength of the violet laser is close to that of the conventional PS plate, some manufacturers hope to transplant this technology into printing. The earliest work in this area was the launch of the Purple Laser CTP's Agfa and Fuji two companies at Durpa2000. At present, the wavelength of the violet laser diode used in the printing is mostly between 405 nm and 410 nm. Since the wavelength is relatively short, the energy is relatively high, and the laser spot is also small. Due to the cold light source, the stability is better. Therefore, it has many advantages over the heat-sensitive CTP.
1 Since violet light is used as the laser's input light, and the violet light has a short wavelength of only about 405 nm, a smaller mirror can be used to reflect the laser light. A smaller laser head volume means a higher rotational speed. Therefore, plate making is faster and smaller.

The plate-making precision requirements fully satisfy the printing companies' desire for plate quality improvement.
4 The actual plate making speed of the equipment in production is another major advantage of the violet laser CTP. The violet laser source is a laser that uses a 405 nm spectrum. From the physical characteristics of light, the shorter the characteristic spectrum, the greater the energy of the light, so the purple light source is higher than other commonly used CTP light sources, such as green (532nm), red (830nm, 1064nm), etc. The imaging speed.

2. Another important technology of violet laser CTP is plate material.
1 Purple laser system has an open plate supply. Almost all mainstream CTP manufacturers produce, including several domestic companies, and the supply of plates is very secure. And it can be foreseen that the price of the plate will continue to drop.
2 The violet laser CTP plate is a visible light series. It is divided into silver salt version and photopolymerization version. The silver salt version contains a silver halide layer. After the plate is diffused to form a metallic silver image area, the layer is sensitive to light, and the exposure is fast. Only 5 mW of laser light is sufficient. Its resistance to India force is about 350,000 impressions, not baking version. However, the developer contains harmful components and needs to be treated with environmental protection; the photopolymerization version only contains photopolymers, and the waste liquid contains no harmful substances, and can reach 1 million impressions after baking. The original violet laser is only 5mW, and it can only be exposed to the silver salt CTP plate. Generally, the sensitivity of the photosensitive platen cannot meet the requirement. Therefore, only the silver salt diffusion transfer plate is on the market. When the platesetter adopted a 15mW violet laser in 2001, it was able to expose high-sensitivity photopolymer plates. In 2002, the 30mW violet laser diode appeared and was applied to the CTP platemaking system. At this time, it has been able to meet the requirements of rapid plate making. The corresponding varieties of violet laser CTP plate also appeared diversified. Not only the silver salt CTP plate, high sensitivity 410nm photosensitive Edition, and medium-sensitivity photosensitive CTP plate also began to adapt to the violet laser CTP platemaking system. International plate manufacturers have started to launch their own violet laser CTP plates. After 2003, with the advent of 60mW, 100mW or even higher power lasers, more plates are available for violet laser platemaking systems. The light source energy of the next generation of violet laser light source will reach 200mW or even higher, which provides a broad prospect for further improving the production efficiency of the violet laser CTP system.
