Print hard proof


Print hard proofs using the settings in Proof Settings to simulate the final output of the document on the press. For more information on the Proofing Settings command, soft proofing, and printing hard proofs, see Electronic Proofing Colors and Printing Proofing Proofs.

Print soft proofs:

Open the document in Photoshop.

Choose View> Proof Settings> Custom, then select the output device's profile in the Profile menu. Choose a rendering intent from the Intent menu. If you want to make more proofs on a specific output device, click Save to save the settings.

Click the OK button to close the Proofing Settings dialog box.

Choose File > Print Preview.

In the Print dialog box, be sure to select Show Other Options and be sure to choose Color Management from the menu.

In the Source Space area, select Proofing. "Proof Settings" should be the profile you specified.

In the Print Space area of ​​the Print dialog box, do one of the following:

If you want to print using the printer driver's factory profile selection, choose Printer Color Management from the Profile menu. This is useful if you do not have a printer's custom profile, but you want the printer driver to pick the best profile based on paper type, resolution, and so on. When you click the Print button, another Print dialog opens to set printer options. On Windows, click the Properties button to access the printer driver options. On Mac OS, use the pop-up menu to access printer driver options. Set print options for the desired quality, and specify color management settings so that the printer driver can handle color management during printing.

If you want to use a custom profile for printing, choose a custom profile from the Profile menu and click the Print button. Another Print dialog (for setting printer options) opens. On Windows, click the Properties button to access the printer driver options. On Mac OS, use the pop-up menu to access printer driver options. Set print options for the desired quality and turn off all printer driver color adjustment options.
Click the Print button.
