Climb the correct use of SRT (single rope technology)

SRT is an abbreviation of English (Single Opetechnique) and is called "Single Rope Technology" in China. It is able to realize the technique from above and below on a rope. Its appearance has enabled mankind to go deeper into the unknown world and become a must for cave exploration. Explorers are proud to reach a vertical depth of 1,000 meters underground. The 1,000-meter record has now been broken, but the challenge to vertical depth has not stopped and will not stop.

SRT technology is serious and standardized, and all kinds of non-standard operations may have fatal consequences. Therefore, I suggest that enthusiasts learning and using SRT technology should establish a safe and collaborative thinking from the very beginning. Really experience the excitement and fun it brings. Below, we will introduce the components of SRT technology.

1, equipment preparation:

Hand-type riser, GO screw lock (A), GO screw lock (B), pedal, main lock, caving belt, D-type screw lock, pull cable, chest riser, adjustable strap, Falling device, O-type screw lock, helmet.

2, the connection between devices:

Hand riser + GO screw lock (A) + GO screw lock (B)

GO thread lock (A) + pedal

GO thread lock (B) + pull cable long end

Main lock + pull wire short end

Chest riser + adjustable strap

Caving Tunnel Belt + D-Thread Lock

O-type thread lock + down device

D thread lock + pull cable + chest riser + O thread lock

3, wear and use of precautions:

No equipment can be less.

All parts of the safety belt with a buckle must be reversed; the belts and belts of the belt must be tight (the fingers can be inserted better, not tightened).

The main lock screw must be fastened; the threaded main lock that connects the descender should lock the door to the side and lock it down. The length of the pedals is from the ground to the D-lock position; the length of the pull-wire connecting the hand-type ascender is preferably from the D-type cable to the mouth. The cable can be replaced with a tested static rope or motive rope. If a slip occurs, it should be replaced immediately. The instruments on the D-lock should be arranged in order. Pay attention to the direction of chest risers and descenders.

4, learning knots.

From the most commonly used eight-character knots to double knots, single knots, fisherman knots, human knots, bows, and knots, all must be skillfully mastered.

5, rising technology: (reference caving equipment)

Before ascent, first adjust the adjustable strap (adjustable strap can also be replaced with a flat strap), so that chest-type riser close to the body. First, hang the chest riser on the static rope, and then hang up the hand-type ascent device to tighten the upper rope so that the body can be suspended smoothly. When it is vacant, put one foot (which can also be used on both feet) into the foot. Step, one hand holds the handle of the hand-type riser, and the other hand holds the upper part of the hand-type riser. When it rises, the hands and feet are forced at the same time to make the body upright and move upwards with the chest-type ascent device. Then, the body weight is gently transferred to the chest-type ascending device, and the hands and feet are moved upward simultaneously, and then the force is applied simultaneously. , to achieve rapid increase.

When rising, use unforced feet to coordinate the balance of the body and prevent the body from being hit by a stone wall.

When using the foot type ascending device, it can be used as a substitute for the foot pedal or the foot pedal. In this case, the hand type, the chest type and the foot type are simultaneously on the rope. The foot riser is suitable for long rises.

6, slip technology:

Self-locking and semi-lock down (STOP, RACK), mastering their use is a very important technique or step.

Remember: As long as the descender does not slide on the rope, or you do not want it to slide, it should be self-locking immediately.

7, drop technology:

Before descending, connect the anchor with a pull cable (commonly known as: oxtail rope), then put the descender correctly on the rope and lock it. Before recovering, recover the pull. After all the body weight has been given to the descender, unlock the lock and begin to descend. When descending, both hands should coordinate the effort and try to control the uniform speed. The descending height should be as low as possible. In the process of lowering, the descender should be practiced more.

8, falling posture:

It is better to sit in a sitting position with the upper body and thighs at right angles. Do not lean backwards.

9, point technology:

Excessive points are inevitable in large-scale cave exploration, so be sure to master it very well.

10, under the point:

When descending to the anchor point, immediately connect the anchor point with a pull-pull cable, and then continue to descend until the pull-rope is fully stressed. On the rope immediately below the anchor point, attach a hand-type riser for protection. The lowering device is rope-changed and self-locking. After checking, use a hand-type ascent device to take the pull-out cable, put the weight to the descender, and then take the hand-type ascender and return to the position.

If you are skilled, you can not use the hand-type ascending device for protection, but pull the anchor point to the left hand, and the right hand will lift the rope on the right side of the descender to make the pull cable slack, and then remove it from the anchor point and return it to the position. On the equipment rack, the descender unlocks and then descends.

11, on the point:

When it rises to the anchor position, first pull the pull cable to the anchor point, and lift the chest riser from the lower rope to the upper rope (remember not to get on the rope under the anchor point). After it is safe, the handle-type riser is replaced, and the state is adjusted. After a few steps upwards, the pull-up cable is taken and returned to the equipment rack.

12, switching technology:

The important technology that must be mastered can handle the various needs on a single rope. Actions include: single rope lifting switch, double rope switching.

Switch on:

First, the descender is self-locked, the hand-type riser is hung on the upper main rope, and then the pedal is used to stand up, and the chest-type riser is hung on the main rope between the descender and the hand type. The descender is then removed and returned to the equipment rack, which then goes into the ascending state.

Switch over:

Hang the descender to the correct position of the D-lock first and then lock it. With your feet up and up, loosen the chest riser from the main rope, and then slowly transfer the body weight to the descender, then remove the handle riser from the master rope and return it to its home position. Then enter the decline.

This set of actions should be noted that the position of the lowering rope on the descender should not be too arbitrary, and it must be ensured that after the gravity is received, the hand-type ascent device can be obtained, otherwise the operation will be repeated and the physical exertion will be wasted.

Rising instruments can also be used to complete the lifting switch. This is a very creative action, and it is also a skill and excavation of the function of the device. The right hand and the left hand respectively operate the hand type and the chest type riser. When the chest type riser receives force, the hand type moves downwards, but it is not possible to leave the rope and step on the foot so that the hand type ascender is forced and the chest type is loosened and moved down , Then let the chest riser force, ..., loop operation to achieve the decline. (Insert under move mode, move down mode)

13, security measures:

Self-locking: Prevent falling on the rope when hanging and after changing instruments

Cable pull: protection provided before and during air suspension, protection provided when traversing

Protective bag: Prevents the rope from being rubbed directly.

The head of the rope underneath must be knotted to prevent it from slipping out of the rope.

14. Matters needing attention: The above technologies must be mastered, and they can be used flexibly in actual combat to ensure safety.

Technical application

Descending: passing a knot in the rope

Due to the influence of some descent width, there is no way to connect the two main ropes through the intermediate anchor point. In this case, the two main ropes can only be directly connected without using the intermediate anchor point. (Khan ~ really awkward).

1. In order to connect the ropes together, an eight-character knot is used. The rope at the upper end uses a double-letter pattern, and the resulting loop can provide the operator with a point of attachment during the knotting operation.

2. Descent to the knot, the operator hangs one end of the oxtail into the loop, and then hangs the hand up on the upper end of the knot so that the weight of the operator shifts from the descender (here used STOP) to the rise. Device (hand lift).

3. Then transfer the STOP to the lower end of the knot, tighten the lower active rope, make it closer to the knot, and then transfer its weight from the ascender to the descender.

4. After removing the riser (hand lift) and removing the end of the oxtail from the loop, it can continue to fall.

Drop: Descending:passinganintermediateanchor

1. Down to the middle anchor point, the operator hangs the end of the oxtail rope into the anchor point and bears the weight from the anchor point.

2. Then transfer the descender to the rope at the lower end of the middle anchor and tighten the rope at the active end of the descender to make it closer to the joint.

3. Remove the end of the oxtail from the anchor and continue to descend

Rising: Over anchor operation (Ascending:passinganintermediateanchor)

1. Raise to the middle anchor point and the operator will hang the end of the oxtail rope into the anchor point for protection.

2. Then move the raiser up to the upper rope of the anchor point in order, and warn that the chest lift must be transferred first.

3. After removing the end of the oxtail from the anchor point, it can continue to rise.
